Romans 8:1

Last week I had the opportunity to preach at a mens retreat, along with 14 others.  Grace Bible Church has a class called “H3” where men are trained in introductory theology, as well as sermon preparation.  Although I was not in H3 this year I did have to present a sermon for my Hermeneutics class.  It was so encouraging to hear God’s word from 14 other men.  I was both encouraged, convicted, and brought to God’s grace in the Gospel.

My text was Romans 8:1-4.  It was a robust passage for me, and I can recall at least 3 times that I broke down in tears when I studying it.  The summary of the text for those that are truly in Christ Jesus :

“God has given all things to those that he loves, but remember that he has held back something from those that are in Christ Jesus.  There exists something that God will never give you, something that He only gives to others.  He has withheld from you the condemnation that He gives everyone else.  And so we see that in God withholding His condemnation from us, He is able to give beleivers the righteousness of his Son, something that He withholds from everyone else.”

It is this message that we desire to take to PNG.  We want the people of Papua New Guinea to hear and know God’s declaration of “no condemnation” for everyone that believes in Jesus Christ.  As we approach our desired departure date of August we are looking for others that would support this work.  I would encourage you to prayerfully consider supporting us in this endeavor!
