Survey One

Romans 10:14

How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without a preacher?

Over two months ago survey one started. The first trip was to Netginea. Matt, Zach and I took a boat and a hike to visit this tribe. Then about a month later Joey Tartaglia (one Director of Finisterre Vision) came to town. Matt, Zach and Joey proceeded to take another boat ride and a 50+ mile hike to nDo as well as various tribes along the way. Then, two weeks ago, Matt, Zach and I took a helicopter ride to three other tribes: Sinsisaru, Yaoutwam and Ufim. Survey one is now officially over!

It was such an encouragement to be part of this survey with Matt and Zach. Although our role in PNG is the not the same as theirs (living in the tribe and church planting) it is a joy to be with these men and their families. We are praying for them as they work through all their survey data and prayerfully choose the place that they want to do a follow-up survey in. My contribution to this trip was putting together a video of the helicopter survey. It was great to have a GoPro camera to capture the majority of the flight video!

These are but the baby steps leading to the proclamation of the gospel in PNG. Just like building a relationship with a friend to share the gospel. The only difference here is the need to rent a helicopter to “visit” that friend. Lord willing the team will be able to move in, learn language and culture, then preach the good news of Jesus Christ. Please continue to pray for the team.
