1550 of 4200

IMG_3623We have been on the road for the last 3 days and driven over 1550 miles of the 4200 estimated total miles.  It has been amazing to see the change in landscape from California, Oregon, and now Washington.  God’s creation is truly vast and huge!  It is incredible to think that we could drive for 3 days and be in the car so long—only to make it to three states in America.  People are insignificant in light of God’s massive creation.

The wedding is Saturday and we are looking forward to seeing a good amount of family and friends.  We will be leaving for Idaho to visit supporters on Tuesday and Lord willing arrive there Wednesday.  It has been encouraging to see God answering prayer; our kids have done very well on this long road trip.  In the midst of occasional “lack of love” moments, they have been excited along the journey.

My Bible reading took me through 1 Timothy 4 today.  It was a helpful reminder that believers in Christ are ones that should have a desire to pursue godliness; and discipline themselves to do so.  It is something that only produces profit in “all things”.  I would encourage you, as I have been myself to be in the Word daily—it is the means God uses to grow and sanctify believers (John 17:17).

But have nothing to do with worldly fables fit only for old women. On the other hand, discipline yourself for the purpose of godliness; for bodily discipline is only of little profit, but godliness is profitable for all things, since it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.
