Greer and Julie

Praise God we are back from the trip!  The total miles ended up being 4780 from the original estimate of 4200.  I am grateful to God for the opportunity that we had to visit so many people.  We were also thankful to God for the safe travels on the various roads we took.  We have had several people ask what the most memorable part of the trip was?  Although that seems like a simple question it has been hard to answer.  The entire trip was so memorable that I can think of at least 100 things that we will remember.  Here’s one:

Before we headed home from California we celebrated Greer’s birthday early with family in Sacramento.  The party was at a park, close to Grandma and Grandpa’s house, and the weather was just right (a slight breeze in the air).  Grandma had bought the kids mini water guns… So the kids and I were playing…  Well, it was more like a military showdown between Knox and everyone else (he is so serious about warfare).  We had hotdogs, opened presents, and continued to play until we went home for the night.  Greer is hanging out with his aunt Julie in the picture below.

On the PNG side… We have had two new supporters come on in the last 3 weeks bringing us to 50% of our monthly support need – Praise God!  Our team continues to make steps towards departure to PNG, but somehow it always feels like we are a little behind.  What’s truly exciting is that we will never have everything perfectly done and I am sure some things will be missed in our preparation to leave but God is in control!  Please pray for the massive support need and task list that needs to be completed before we leave.  It seems big to us but these are small things for Him.
