Another Supply Run in the Books
It’s always easier doing something the second time. Learning to drive a car, riding a bike, even using chop-sticks! The second time is still a mess but you always learn some critical things not to repeat the second time. Praise the Lord this second supply run was far better than the second time I tried using chop-sticks! Even funnier, is that there were more variables with this supply run compared to the last. If you follow our Newsletters or follow us on FaceBook you would have seen that Lorie has been having medical issues. We have sent her to two different hospitals/clinics in...

This week Tuesday was the day! The first supply run for Team nDo (Canns and Dodds) was exciting, exhausting, adventurous and joyful! Because it was the first supply run there were plenty of times when I spent more time deciding the best way to do something rather than just doing it. It will be nice to improve this task as the years go on. Something that made this supply run even more difficult was communication. The Canns & Dodds still do not have a solid internet connect because their vSat dish is not working. They were able to send me their supply order using a slow internet...

Our first team (the Canns and Dodds) has been in Mareroro since February 25th. The first supply run is scheduled for the 29th of March. One of our roles is to keep our team supplied with the things they cannot access in the mountains. Items like groceries, medication, homeschool items and construction materials. So far we are planning to perform supply runs for the team every 6-8 weeks depending on the flight schedules of SIL (Wycliffe Bible Translators) and MAF (Mission Aviation Fellowship). Something extra that Lorie and I wanted to do was prepare meals...

Adventure. The word is packed with curiosity, unforeseen circumstances, excitement and doing something that is not part of your regular routine. When you combine that word with, “Housebuilding” you get a Housebuilding Adventure and that is what I just got back from with Matt Dodd and Zach Cann. This trip was the fourth housebuilding adventure we had the privilege of taking together and it will not be the last. We had two primary goals before we left: Frame the house and get the galvanized roofing on. With this in mind we planned three return flights back to Madang from Mareroro...

This was a great video created by Smedly Yates. It shows the house build of the Dodd’s home from start to finish. So thankful that we had such a fantastic team come out and build with us.

In case you did not know there was a recent trip to Mareroro to start house building. However, this trip was not to complete the houses, but an effort to speed up the house building for when the team arrives from the States in September. Matt Dodd, Zach Cann and I decided that it would be a productive use of our time to start this and being on the backside of the work I am thankful we did it! “Do we have everything?” That is the question to ask when you are building houses in the middle of the Jungles of Papua New Guinea. Last I checked Home Depot is still around 7000 miles...
