Last night I had the chance to cook some shrimp for the family, exciting… right?
When we sat down for dinner it was a big deal. Lorie carefully counted out how many shrimp each person received (because this is not a normal meal for us) so it was “fair”. We all started eating and I was enjoying Knox’s face eat time he went to take a bite. He could not stand the taste of shrimp, and Belle felt the same way.
Greer however started digging in and loved them. When he got to the end of the second shrimp he started rubbing his nose like crazy. If you were an observer in the house you would have thought someone turned the snot faucet on in his head. There wasn’t enough kleenex in the house to keep up with the speed he was blowing his nose. Right before I started walking his to the bathroom to get Kleenex we noticed that he had a rash starting on his face. Praise the Lord for Benadryl!
1.5 tps later and he was beginning to feel better – and the rash was gone before he went to bed. Exciting stuff right?
I am thankful we found this out stateside rather than PNG.
A good lesson to learn stateside alright! You guys should be on the lookout for allergic reactions from Greer to ant eggs, and bee/wasp larva as well. FYI in case they eat those things in PNG!
