Lehman Family Update: The plane left the runway…

The Lehman's in Oregon

The last 2 months have felt so packed with blessings, hardship, excitement, and momentum towards Papua New Guinea.  With the speed that we are approaching our desired departure I can almost hear the sound of kids clamoring on the jet as we head to PNG.  Then again, that will be a 14 hour flight so it may go from joyful clamoring to a little crazy.

Lorie has been enjoying her time with the kids being a dedicated mommy; she is an excellent homeschool teacher as well.  She has been taking the kids to swim lessons – that has been fun to watch the kids (lots of tears).  Lorie has also had a great opportunity to enjoy fellowship with the wife of the family we are currently living with.  It has been a joy for her to get to know Janet better.

I have had the privilege of being enrolled at Grace Bible Institute.  I am in the middle of a Hermeneutics class and just finished presenting a sermon on Romans 8:1-4.  This has been a sweet time preparing to leave for PNG and being better equipped to care for people we interact with, as well as Shepherding my family in the field.  I recently said good-bye to the employer that I have had for the last 4.5 years.  It was bittersweet, but a needed transition as we prepare to go.

Greer has excelled in his learning of math, reading, as well as learning to read the time on a traditional clock.  He can be found hanging out with one of the 7 other kids in the house.  Belle is doing great – Praise God her asthma is gone!  We have been reducing her daily inhaler and took her off of other medications.  She has TONS of energy, is talking better, and has lots of growing pains (Lord willing she is getting bigger).  Knox is our in home warrior.  This guys always has a toy sword in his possession.  He even sheaths it in the side of his arm, or down the back of his shirt (very serious stuff).  Every time he sees daddy, he wants to “battle”.

We have a formal lease agreement setup for a house in Madang!  That means that we officially have a house to work out of for the missionary’s in the bush.  This has been a huge answer to prayer and only makes us work faster to get to PNG.

We are at 61% of our monthly need and only in need of $2,544 before we are fully funded!  God has been gracious to provide monthly supporters that have sacrificed for this goal, and we know he will stir up even more people soon.

To help make that goal easier to think about:  Thats only 100 people at $25 per month, or 50 people at $50 per month, or 25 people at $100 per month.  Would you consider becoming a financial supporter of this endeavor?  Please prayerfully consider this and let us know.
